Class of 2008 Announced
The East Hampton Athletic Hall of Fame Association is pleased to announce the members of the class of 2008. Lisa Abbott, Jason Clark, Carl William (CW) Currie, Sheila Pekari Mongiat and Paul Peszynski have been selected as members of the Athletic Hall of Fame. Induction Night will take place on Saturday November 8, at 5:30pm at the Blackledge Country Club in Hebron, CT.
Lisa Abbott was a four-year starter in three sports at East Hampton High School through the
years of 1987 to 1991. Lisa was recognized as Class S All State goalkeeper and Charter Oak Conference All Star multiple times in basketball and softball. Lisa played both basketball and softball at Western Connecticut State University and currently serves as assistant softball coach.
Jason Clark was an outstanding soccer player at East Hampton High School. A 1993 gr
aduate, Jason was a two-time All Charter Oak Conference and All Middlesex County as well as Class S All State his senior year. A great all-around athlete, Jason also earned varsity letters in baseball two years, basketball where he was a member of the 1993 COC Conference Champion team, and in track where he was awarded team MVP his senior year.
Carl William (CW) Currie is being inducted as an athletic contributor. An active member of the East Hampton Little League Board of Directors for 44 years CW has been Park Dir
ector for the past 21 years, overseeing construction and maintenance of fields, dugouts, fences, press boxes, electronic scoreboards, concession stand and restroom facilities as well as the CW Currie Field House. In his time with the East Hampton Little League, the facility has developed into one of the most respected in the state.

Sheila Pekari Mongiat was a standout athlete in cross country, basketball and track during her tenure at East Hampton High School from 1977 to 1981. She was Class S Cross Country state champion for three years. Sheila was a member of the 1980 Class S State Championship basketball team, and also set records in track for the 1500 and 3000 meter races.
Paul Peszynski has played and supported East Hampton sports for more than 60 years. A player in the very first season of East Hampton Little League, Paul continues to contribute to the league as a valued sponsor. A 1956 graduate of East Hampton High School Paul was one of the first athletes to earn twelve varsity letters. He captained all three sports his junior and senior years and won team awards for highest batting average in baseball and highest shooting percentage in basketball.

The EHAHOFA was founded in the spring of 2006 and intends to honor and acknowledge outstanding athletic accomplishment by those involved in athletics in the Town of East Hampton.
