Inaugural Class Announced
The East Hampton Athletic Hall of Fame Association (EHAHOFA) is pleased to announce the members of the inaugural class. Richard Wall and Kenneth Lutton have been unanimously selected as members of the Athletic Hall of Fame. On November 11, 2006 the first annual Induction Night will take place from 5:30pm to 7:30pm in the Banquet Room of Angelico’s Lakeside Restaurant.
Richard Wall was an athlete at East Hampton High School from 1943-1948. A three-sport athlete he was captain of all his teams. Richard was the first ever to earn 12 varsity letters at EHHS. In baseball he was also the only player ever to hit Center School (then the high school) on a line drive from home plate!
Kenneth Lutton was an exceptional three-sport athlete at East Hampton High School from the years 1950-1954. Kenneth excelled on the basketball court and is considered one of the best all-time basketball players to play at EHHS. His career scoring record still stands at 1536 points. Kenneth will be honored posthumously, represented at the induction ceremony by his family.
The East Hampton Athletic Hall of Fame plaque will be on display at the town hall.
The EHAHOFA was founded in the spring of 2006 and intends to honor and acknowledge outstanding athletic accomplishment by those involved in athletics in the Town of East Hampton.
Limited tickets for the Induction Night are still available for $20 per person. The evening will consist of hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, and an induction ceremony. If you would like to share in the celebration, please contact EHAHOFA President Michael Vasquenza at 860-267-7405 or send an email to ehahof@sbcglobal.net.
